  • Bourne Galletly Medical Practice

Practice2We are a six doctor General Practice partnership located in Bourne. We aim to provide a comprehensive range of general medical services to our patients in Bourne and the surrounding areas. After you have registered you can consult with any of the six doctors. We encourage you to stay with one doctor as much as possible for continuity of care, although there may be times when it will be necessary to see another doctor.
  • New Dispensing Service

    12 September 2011

The start of September has seen the launch of our latest service for those dispensing patients who are on multiple medications.  For the first time we are able to offer the facility to put the medication into weekly blister packs.  These packs will be delivered once a week using our new delivery service.

The first tranche of 60 patients received their first packs last week.  Once we have established the service we will be offering it to all dispensing patients who are on three or more types of tablets daily.

Please note that not all medication is suitable for the blister pack service.

  • Repeat prescriptions

Prescription-me14The Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions (ETPS) phase 2 is due to roll out soon. This will enable doctors to send prescriptiosn electronically to pharmacists and may well improve the repeat prescribing services. Patients may be asked by pharmacists to sign up to this service. If you do it is important to undertsand the implications. You will be allowed to nominate up to three pharmacies from where you can receive prescriptions. The list will NOT include our GP dispensing services as Dispensing doctors have been EXCLUDED from the service. Once you have signed up YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE YOUR PHARMACY CHOICES without making an application to the PCT which will only be considered under exceptional circumstances. If you currently use our dispensary DO NOT SIGN UP unless you are sure you never wish to use our dispensary services again as you will not be allowed to change your mind later. We will happily provide services to all eligible patients but this is a one way ticket.

  • Booking Appointments

appointmentAppointments can be made using the internet, by telephone (lines open at 0800 hrs), or by calling in person. We try to offer a mutually convenient appointment with the doctor or nurse of your choice. As this is not always possible we would be pleased if you would accept the best alternative. If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that it can be offered to another patient. We have an appointment cancellation line where you can leave a message, or if you have Internet access you can cancel on line (pre-registration necessary)

There are occasions when a doctor may be delayed by an emergency. We will try to keep you informed of any delay and would appreciate your patience when this happens.

There will be times when your usual doctor may be unavailable. If you cannot wait, you may be offered an appointment with another doctor.

The Doctors use a telephone callback system for emergencies. If you require an emergency appointment or a visit from the Doctor, you will be asked to give your phone number and brief details of your illness (if you are happy to do so) to the receptionist. The duty Doctor or Triage Nurse will call you back, discuss your symptoms and plan the most appropriate course of action. This will usually be telephone advice, an urgent same day appointment or a home visit. For details of our practice services please click here
