Dr Colin Burr MB ChB (Leicester 1983), MRCGP, DRCOG

My training was at Leicester University Medical School, which included an attachment in General Practice in..... Bourne!

I qualified in 1983 and, following my postgraduate GP training at Peterborough, I returned to Bourne to join the Galletly Practice as a Partner in 1987.

I am married with a grown-up daughter and son.  I enjoy skiing, cycling, windsurfing and golf.

My medical interests are Hypertension, Diabetes and Child Health.

Dr Antony Wright MB BS (Newcastle 1992), BMedSci, MRCGP

I graduated from Newcastle University in 1992 (MBBS, BMedSci).  After 12 months teaching undergraduate medical students, I embarked on a career in surgery.  However, in 1995, I decided that General Practice was the career for me.

Interests: I trained to be a General Practitioner in Newcastle and Grantham (MRCGP, 1997) before moving to Bourne in 1997.

I have an interest in hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, minor surgery and family planning.  I am married to Ann and have three boys.

Dr Julie Harris MB ChB (Leicester 1987), MRCGP

I was born and brought up in South Wales until I went to University in Leicester where I qualified as a Doctor in 1987.  I worked in the hospitals in Leicester for three years before completing my training as a GP in Oakham, Rutland in 1992.  I joined the Galletly practice as a part-time Partner in 1995.

In 2010 Dr Paul Cregor and I completed courses and assessments and became GP Trainers.  The Practice was awarded GP Training Practice status.  We supervise and help Doctors during their GP training so that they can complete their training program and become independent GP's.

My medical interests besides the variety of general practice include women's health, family planning and sports medicine.  I am a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and a diplomat in family planning. 

My personal interests involve several sports including running, cycling, tennis, swimming and skiing.

Dr Bettina Briggs  MB ChB MRCGP DRCOG DFFP

I grew up in Norfolk and qualified as a Doctor from Leicester University Medical School in 1981. I did my vocational training for General Practice in Leicester and I have been with the practice since 1995.

I enjoy the huge variety of General Practice.  I have a particular interest in women's disorders, family planning and care of pregnant women.

I am a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and a diplomat of the Faculty of Family Planning.

I am married to a Doctor and have two grown up children.  I have lived in the town since 1991 and combine part-time work with many hobbies including cycling, watching Peterborough United and boating.

I enjoy being part of a happy, friendly, caring and efficient practice.

Dr Ian Pace BSc MB ChB DCH DRCOG

I grew up in Malta and qualified as a Doctor at Birmingham University in 1985.  I did my vocational training in the Royal Air Force and worked in a number of RAF locations in the UK and abroad before joining the Galletly Practice in 1993.

My medical interests encompass most areas of General Practice but particularly chronic disease management, asthma, minor surgery and medical computing.

I am responsible for the IT infrastructure in the practice, as well as the usual areas of management.

I am married to a Doctor and we have two children and have lived locally since 1988.

Dr Paul Cregor MB ChB (Sheffield 2002), MRCGP 2006

I’m originally from Southend on Sea in Essex.  I read Medicine at Sheffield University and qualified in 2002.  I worked as a Junior Doctor in Sheffield before joining the Barnsley GP Training Scheme in 2004.  I joined the  Galletly Practice in 2006 and we moved down from Yorkshire.

My medical special interests have changed over the years but include Geriatric Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and helping patients with Learning Disabilities.

Mr Ian Robinson

I’m originally from Yorkshire and although I had a short spell with another Practice in Lincolnshire before my arrival at the Practice in March 2008, my background is one of business management, HR and finance.  Before entering the world of General Practice I was a Director with a national top 100 retail company.

Originally joining the Practice as the Practice Manager, I was privileged to be asked to join the Partnership in July 2011.

Married with two sons and a Labrador, I am keen on most sports but particularly football.  I am a life-long supporter (or is it sufferer) of Burnley Football Club.  I love scuba diving which I do as often as I can - but preferably in water which is warmer than we find in the UK!
