Childhood Development

Father and child on tricycle

We, together with the Health Visitor, offer child health monitoring to all our young patients (under five years old).  This starts at birth and continues at intervals until the child is of school age. Our Health Visitor does most of the measuring and advising with doctors doing additional checks at 8 weeks, 9 months, 18 months and pre school.

The service is designed to detect developmental problems early so that treatment can offered where indicated.  The childhood immunisation program is an integral part of our Child Health programme and we offer this service as well.

If you have any concerns about your child's development, health, or immunisation then please speak with the Health Visitor in the first instance.  She may refer you on to one of the doctors if she is unable to answer your query.
